With darker nights now creeping in, I’ve been stocking up on thick woolly jumpers and cosy cardigans – and I think Annelies Baes’s gorgeous Cremosa Cardigan might have to sneak its way up my “To Hook†list! While Jenny Reid’s pretty Katherine Top, worked in a gradient of grey to pink, is just the thing to pull on when the temperature starts to drop and snuggle up under on the sofa. I’m also tempted by Ashley Cramp’s glorious Argyle Basket, perfect to tidy away the growing pile of yarn at the side of my seat…
Christmas is also fast approaching, which means it’s time to start thinking about what presents I want to crochet this year. I think the adorable Fred Mouse would be the perfect treat for any young child, while the Olivia Shawl and Gentlemen’s Scarf would make great his-and-hers gifts for relatives.
We’ve also included a few projects which are ideal for making with this issue’s free gift, a Tunisian crochet hook. If you’re after a simple pattern for practising the technique, try Sarah Reed’s colourful gadget cosies, while if you’re tempted by something a little more challenging, then take a look at Lindy Zubairy’s glamorous Starlight Sweater, just the thing for any upcoming office parties. And if you’re not sure where to begin with Tunisian crochet, take a look at our step-by-step introduction to the stitches.
Happy crocheting…
