A great excuse for a yarn-themed road trip with your crafty
friends, the aim of The Great British Yarn Crawl is to encourage crocheters and
knitters to not only visit and support their usual local yarn shop, but also to
enjoy day trips to neighbouring towns in search of more crafting goodies. Or
why not plan a short break or holiday around visits to shops in other parts of
the UK, taking in other local attractions, shops and cafés as you go.
It’s so easy to join the yarn crawl and you can win prizes too. Simply visit one of UK Hand Knitting’s participating yarn shops – which are all listed on their website – and pick up a Yarn Crawl Card to collect your first stamp. Gather your friends, hit the road and tick off as many yarn shops as you can, collecting stamps along the way. When you have six stamps, leave your card with the last shop you visited (you must collect stamps from at least two different shops) and you’ll be entered into a draw to win one of 24 prizes of yarn and patterns, with eight prize bundles worth £100 and 16 worth £50 up for grabs! As a bonus, there will be eight instant wins that will be sent out at random to shops across the country.
