Inspired by the mindfulness benefits of crafting, Sam Webber
opened the doors to That Craft Stitch in Torquay this August. With a particular focus on beginners, Sam supports her customers both in the shop through workshops and regular ‘Yarn Addicts Anonymous’ gatherings, and online via her YouTube tutorials and Instagram @that_craftystitch. We particularly love her beginner-friendly crochet kits for simple garments and accessories, and she even has her own That Craft Stitch yarn range!
Over at Knit with Attitude in Stoke Newington, which will celebrate 15 years in business next year, Norwegian expat Maya Linn Bang has faced many challenges, from the global pandemic to losing her business partner – and even the collapse of the building opposite the shop which closed the street for three months! However, this amazing shop continues to be a go-to destination for natural-fibre, ethical and sustainable yarns, stocking a variety of UK independent hand-dyed yarns and Scandinavian brands too. Find out more at knitwithattitude.com or follow on Instagram @knitwithattitude.
If you value the amazing contribution shops like That Crafty Stitch and Knit with Attitude make to promoting independent yarn brands and nurturing crafting communities, please do support them.
