Tracey began her design career at the tender age of 15, selling her first design (a knitted brooch pattern) for 50p in the school playground. The money was spent on yarn and her love of craft and design spiraled from there.
As well as being a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in recognition of her work with communities, Tracey has worked part-time for Fibre + Clay and describes the highlights of her career as meeting Debbie Bliss, seeing her work in print, and the publication of Fun Hats in September 2013 which features her spooky Witches Hat (below).
Now working full-time designing and teaching, Tracey is a favourite here at Inside Crochet and has had many patterns published with us (some of which can viewed here).
Fun fact:
"At university I knitted a mohair jumper, which I didn't cast off properly. I wore it to the pub to show off and over the course of the night it slowly unraveled and what started out as a long, baggy jumper ended up as a crop top!! Luckily there are no photos!"
