Downtown is a new self-striping yarn from Scheepjes, designed to reflect the energy and ever-changing colours of the city. It’s a premium blend of extra fine Merino wool and nylon fibres, creating a soft, light and warm yarn that’s also durable and easy to care for. With beautiful drape and excellent stitch definition, it’s ideal for making quirky accessories such as hats, socks, and cowls. There are 18 colourways in the range, representing different urban locations from the subtly sweet pastels of Baker’s Corner to the rich greens of Lakeside and the eccentric pop art brights of Gallery Central.

Downtown shares the same weight and fibre composition as its sister yarn Metropolis, which means they can be combined within a single project or used interchangeably in suitable patterns designed using either yarn. Downtown’s colourways also complement the existing Metropolis shades, making them a strong duo that bring out the best in each other.
