In issue 45, we spoke with Allison about her blog, her work and her book AmiguruME: Make Cute Crochet People.
After teaching herself to crochet, Allison Hoffman captured the public imagination with her amigurumi dolls.
Here's what she told us about her book:
"I
am SO excited about my book. I really think that AmiguruME: Make Cute Crochet People is going to be a great guide for experienced crocheters and even people who have never picked up a hook. There are lots of examples of different dolls, but the real value is that there is no limit to what you can create! You go piece by piece, crocheting each section of the doll as you go, customising it in anyway you choose. If you want to make a man with a short sleeve t-shirt, kilt, boots and a mohawk, there’s a pattern for that. If you want to crochet a woman wearing a bikini top, capri pants, flip-flops and an afro, there’s a pattern for that too. I can’t wait to see what people make with it."For your chance to win, head over to our competitions page and enter your details.
