The UK Hand Knitting Association together with ICHF Events are looking forward to Worldwide Knitting in Public Day on June 13th and is encouraging everyone across the UK to join them in this wonderful knitathon while helping to set a World Record.
WWKIP day is unique and the largest annual knitter run event in the world taking place in more than 30 countries. It’s the perfect opportunity to show how proud you are of the craft you love.
You may have seen the UKHKA stand at the ICHF Stitching Sewing & Hobbycrafts shows, full of eager knitters creating links for a knitted chain. This amazing creation is nearly a mile long and just 65m from clinching a new World Record. The pattern for the links can be found here.
“The chain links are really quick and easy to knit and are a great way to teach people and encourage them to try knitting, perfect for WWKIP Day,†says Thomas Ramadan from the UKHKA
So why not join with your friends and knit chain links in your local park, library, coffee house or shopping centre in celebration of your craft and help the UKHKA.
Completed links can be sent to: UKHKA Links, c/o ICHF, Dominic House, Seaton Road, Highcliffe Dorset, BH23 5HW.
