It’s the Christmas issue! And we’ve got a bumper pack of gorgeous patterns that we’ve been secretly planning for months. We hope you love them as much as we do!

There’s plenty to keep you busy as the evenings draw in, with really wearable garments such as Cassie Ward’s aptly named Incredi-Bauble Jumper and Rhian Drinkwater’s elegant Festive Cardigan. There are gifts galore with accessories such as Claudine Powley’s toasty Colour Pop Mittens and the stunning Lapland Blanket by Anna Nikipirowicz. For those last-minute presents, you can’t go wrong with Claire Montgomerie’s beautiful Floral Earrings or Kath Webber’s unisex Countdown to Midnight Tie.

For me, personally, I love spending these weeks in the lead up to Christmas adding at least one more make to our box of hand-me-down family decorations. Amongst the vintage glass baubles from my gran and the toilet-roll angels from the preschool years, are a few precious crochet makes that are dusted off each year. It keeps me calm in the build-up to the festivities and is the perfect excuse for a cosy corner, a podcast and maybe a cheeky glass of wine… If only I could decide which pattern to start first – our Excitable Elves Wreath, Jane Crowfoot’s stunning Glitzy Festive Stockings, Emma Varnam’s cute Gingerbread House or some of our sparkly tree decorations. I’d better get hooking!
