The dawn of the warmer months brings with it the height of wedding season: this year I have at least two weddings to attend, and it may be more if a few friends who’ve left things to the last minute manage to find a venue at short notice! With that in mind, this issue has some projects that are perfect for wedding attire. As well as a stunning wedding gown, with a nod to the retro fashion for making your own dress, we also have wraps, shrugs and accessories that are perfect for bridesmaids and guests alike. If you don’t have any weddings to attend this summer, the projects would work just as well for a party or special occasion.

As well as going wedding mad, we of course have our regular selection of practical and pretty interior projects, such as some gorgeous candle holder cosies by Emma Morris, which would sit beautifully on a garden bench on a warm summer evening. We also have projects for little girls that are simply stunning this month. Thomasina Cumming’s beautiful dress is perfect for parties, while Joanne Scrace’s Dawn Lilies cardigan is one I shall be making in every colour combination I can think of for my little girl! It fits perfectly and looks stunning with its unusual contrast cluster stitch technique. Working on this issue has felt like spring has really sprung – all we need now is some lovely weather to enjoy such beautiful, seasonal crochet!
