As I sit and write this, the sun is streaming through the window and I am starting to believe that the long winter may finally be over. I am hoping that the clement weather continues until this magazine lands on your doormat as it contains all kinds of wonderful warm weather garments and accessories, perfect for the beginning of summer. As well as tees and bags perfect for trips to the beach, many of the projects provide some cover for cool evenings and the inevitable chillier days of the changeable British summertime.
One project that covers all the bases and has become a fi rm favourite here in the Inside Crochet offi ce is Kat Goldin’s stunning wrap on page 60. The bright colours work perfectly in the sunshine and the wrap will protect your shoulders from the hottest sun or coolest breeze depending on where you holiday this year. The colourful theme continues in our practical home projects where we can offer stunning potholders, gadget cosies and a beautiful throw that’s perfect for picnics. I have also noticed that Tunisian crochet is on the up, and the attractive, knit-like fabric it produces is perfect for garments, as we have seen in past projects featured in Inside Crochet. If Rebekah Thompson’s stunning hoodie from issue 41 or Amy Depew’s comfortable Utilitarian sweater from issue 38 have inspired you, turn to page 84 and enjoy our simple guide to the technique by Andrea Lyn.
