Autumn seems to have sneaked up on us this year, but at least the cooler weather means that we can dig out some cosy wools and warmer fibres for snuggling up with some comforting crochet. The first shoot this issue has a distinctly granny-ish theme. We have taken inspiration from the humble granny cluster and come up with a collection of modern, bright and fun projects to make. Whether you are new to the technique or you can make the motif in your sleep, there should be a project to inspire you and stretch your skills.
Of course, we have our regular mix of seasonal projects too, and Vicki Brown’s beautiful Leonie cardigan is a personal favourite. The humble cardigan is in the spotlight this season, both on the catwalks and on the high street, and this versatile cover-up will fit perfectly in your wardrobe whatever the weather throws at us this month. If it is warm, simply throw on over a simple cotton top and if it’s cold, layer it up with fine knits and add a beautiful pin to fasten.
