Inside Crochet - Issue 50, 2014

This month sees the 50th issue of Inside Crochet – I can’t quite believe it! Time has passed so quickly and there have been so many exciting issues since I took on the role of editor. I have loved working with so many fabulously talented designers , receiving and photographing so many beautiful original patterns and hearing from our dedicated readers. You must check out the celebrations on our blog this month over at www.insidecrochet.co.uk, where there will be competitions, interviews and lots of other exciting stuff.

I shall be discussing some of my favourite patterns from the past 50 issues, (how will I choose just a few?!). One of these is most definitely our cover star, Emma Varnam’s iconic campervan pattern. This stylish retro doorstop will be especially at home in a child’s bedroom or a pretty garden room; it just exudes bright summer fun and will make you smile every time you look at it.

There has been another reason for great excitement in the Inside Crochet office this month. Hot young designer Katie Jones, who has been gathering awards and praise from many sources since she graduated with a BA in 2011, has designed a fabulous crocheted jacket exclusively for us. The stunning jacket pattern inside this issue is an extension of her vibrant MA collection. Fall in love with Katie’s work and design ethic as much as I have by reading Lindsey Harrad’s interview on page 26.
