YARN ALTERNATIVES
Any chunky weight wool or wool blend yarn of the correct tension will give the same effect, but choose a variegated heathery shade to make the most of the shape and stitch.
TENSION
Work an average of 6 star sts and 4 star rows (each star takes two rows to complete) in the main Star Stitch pattern to measure 10 x 10cm/4 x 4in using a 7mm hook, or size required to obtain tension.
Note: The tension is an average figure due to the varying thickness of the yarn. Tension is not essential to this project and the size and length are easily adjusted.
MEASUREMENTS
One size, to fit an average adult.
Finished capelet measures 52.5 x 25cm/21 x 10in.
It is smaller when being worn due to the buttoned overlap.
