Inge Hat/Cowl by Claire Montgomerie

The bold texture of this pretty stitch looks fabulous in a chunky yarn, and this simple, versatile accessory works up extremely quickly.
MATERIALS
● Debbie Bliss Paloma Tweed, 50% alpaca/30% wool/ 14% acrylic/6% viscose, 50g/65m/71yds
Shade: Honey 08 x 2 skeins
● 9mm hook
● 1m of contrast yarn, ribbon or cord
YARN ALTERNATIVES
Try any bulky yarn here. We find Debbie Bliss Roma or Rowan Big Wool work particularly well.
TENSION
Work 1 pattern repeat and 5 rows to measure 10 x 10cm/4 x 4in using 9mm hook, or size required to obtain correct tension.
MEASUREMENTS
Tube measures approx 50cm/19¾in around and 26cm/10¼in deep. It will stretch to fit over average woman’s head, approximately 54–58cm/21¼–23in.
