Hello. I've made up the centre panel for this really easily but am struggling to understand the first part of the pattern for the circular end. Has anyone mastered the rose centre? Grateful for advice!

Hi, I've also managed the central
panel of this cushion with no problems but can't make sense of the first instruction for the circular ends (which I thought would be the easy bit!). Is there a mistake on the pattern? Or can anyone help? Thanks!
