Wyddfa Hat by Rhian Drinkwater

If you’d like to join Inside Crochet and Hand Knitting UK in support of St Andrews Motor Company's ‘Huddersfield to Ukraine, Humanitarian Aid’ project, please feel free to use this beanie pattern. The organisation requests that donated beanie hats are crocheted or knitted in any warm yarn but must only be dark shades such as charcoal grey, navy, khaki, dark brown or black to ensure soldiers remain inconspicuous on the front line. You can use any aran-weigh superwash yarn for this pattern. Please post your handmade items to: St Andrew’s Motor Company, 273 Leeds Road, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD1 6NS.

Shade: Camel 05 x 1 skein

5mm hook

Yarn alternatives:

Unfortunately the Debbie Bliss yarn originally used for this design has been discontinued, but any aran-weight superwash wool would work well here.

Work 16.5 sts and 12 rows in V-st/dc pattern to measure 10 x 10cm/4 x 4in using 5mm hook, or size required to obtain tension.

Finished hat is approximately 43cm/17in in circumference unstretched, to fit average size woman’s head 48–53cm/19–21in.

Brim measures 5.5cm/2¼in.

Hat measures 17cm/6¾in from top of brim to tip of hat, after finishing.
