Created from a blend of cotton and alpaca, the new yarn is warm but airy, and alpaca is a great alternative for people can’t wear mohair. The yarn is super-soft with a gorgeous halo, but also has definition for textured stitches and creates fabric with a lovely drape. And, because the cotton fibres do not take the dye, the yarn has an interesting, marled effect, similar to working with two strands of yarn held together.
Garland’s pattern collection features two designs for stunning crochet wraps: the Calendula Shawl with bobbles and tassels, and Heart of Gold, a textured triangular wrap featuring surface crochet.
