After substantial investment in the mill, the company was able to realise a long-held dream of bringing production back to Yorkshire, while also reducing impact on the environment through more efficient use of water and energy, while cutting transport distances, fuel consumption and pollution. As stocks run low on other shades, they will gradually be spun in Yorkshire too, bringing all 120 shades into the mill.
A few months on from the launch, the brand is celebrating the success of these yarns by launching a range of gorgeous new patterns. The Special DK Made in Yorkshire collection includes eight patterns – four crochet and four knit designs. The crochet designs focus on interesting use of colours and motifs with bold jumpers, a coatigan/cardigan combination and a classic poncho.
