The ever-popular Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace kicked off Wool Week in style last Thursday, opening its doors to its annual gathering of fibrecraft enthusiasts and entrepreneurs. Our own Claire Montgomerie was on hand to perform her duties as a judge but you'll find out plenty more about that later this week, right here on www.insidecrochet.co.uk. While the Knitting & Stitching Show might have ended for 2013, Knit Nation and ONEWOOL are still well under way, with the former open until this coming Sunday. But why all the fuss about Wool Week, what exactly is Wool Week anyway? Wool Week was conceived as a platform upon which wool could regain mainstream attention and save it from drifting away out of the public eye and out of usage. The Campaign for Wool sees Wool Week as an opportunity to gather momentum towards highlighting wool as a natural, renewable, biodegradable and thoroughly useful fibre. 2013 sees The Campaign for Wool fever sweep the nation through a variety of exciting events.
