Christmas is almost upon us, and like many makers, we're hoping for a more mindful festive season this year, celebrating the people who matter to us and creating a more thoughtful, reflective holiday - whilst still having fun!

Linda Modderman's beautiful dress is a timeless classic that can be dressed up or down easily, whilst Theodora Burrow's clever pineapple stitch capelet will add a sophisticated look to most outfits. Camilla Baroe's pretty Ripple Collar will give a new lease of life to an old dress or blouse, and Helda Panagary's stunning Peony Fade Shawl, made in lovely hand-dyed mini-skeins, is all you need to liven up a little black dress!

Of course we also have gifts that will delight the little ones, such as Khuc Cay's gorgeous Didi Reindeer and Lynne Rowe's wonderful Polar Bear Blanket, but we feel this issue is also an excuse to take things slowly this season and create decorations, accessories and garments that will fill you with joy and will be treasured for years.

I also have to mention part two of Jane Crowfoot's fabulous Indigo Dreams crochetalong. This month we hook our first floral motifs and start to create the wonderful patchwork panels - I'm dipping into the Facebook group to see everyone's progress and what a delight it is to see all the lovely colourways that are appearing.
