Inside Crochet - 61, 2014

At this time of year it can feel as if the winter will never end, and unfortunately there are no sparkly holidays left to cheer it up! With this in mind, we have provided some beautiful, warm and colourful projects to try to reinject the fun into piling on the layers.

Helda Panagary’s striking scarf utilises bold colours alongside an unusual stitch to great effect on page 58. Worked in one of our favourite super-soft MillaMia yarns, the blocks of rainbow colours created by a slip stitch technique look bright, pure and luminous.

From multicoloured to the other big theme this season – monochrome. I adore Annelies Baes’ bold striped cardigan on page 42. This is the perfect slouchy sweater to throw on when curling up with your crochet or a book, but is also so stylish it doubles as a toasty and smart “coatigan” for venturing outdoors. While on the subject of cardis, we have another in the shape of Simone Francis’ beautiful project on page 52. This has an intricate and pretty yoke and edging worked using the simple and fun hairpin lace technique.
