This month we have plenty of projects that will have you full of the joys of spring! Cute critters, patterns for babies and children, plus an array of colourful garments and accessories to ensure you’re prepped for warmer weather.
There are so many beautiful patterns inside this month that it’s hard to choose my favourites, but I do adore
Sarah Shrimpton’s vegetable rattles, which are beyond cute! Add a toy rattle, bell or other crinkly, jingly insert to create a set of sensory toys for your child, or hook them as cute ami for older kids (including yourself!).
I have also put Emma Friedlander-Collins’ striking Sunset Sweater to the top of my making queue – with its ombré edgings it’s a contemporary, flattering garment, and so comfortable and easy to wear.
As always, you’ll find a quick-to-make, must-hook project in Rachel Atkinson’s vintage column. This issue it’s a set of delicate accessories, which I can see being used in many different ways. As well as a necklace, I might make a summery band for my daughter’s hair, and they would also work well as dainty garlands for garden parties.
We’ve also got a handy recap of Tunisian crochet for any beginners. Take a look at page 26, then try hooking the pretty summer vest top featured on page 62.
Enjoy!
