Merton Abbey Flower by Jane Crowfoot
In 1882 William De Morgan outgrew his first kiln at his parents’ home, and moved his business to Merton, near Wimbledon. At his peak, De Morgan employed around 40 people here to work the kilns, paint ceramics and throw pots.
