Southwold Garland by Kath Webber

Inspired by traditional seaside fun on the Suffolk coast, this garland features Southwold’s famous colourful beach huts.

â— DMC Natura Just Cotton Medium, 100% cotton, 50g/75m/83yds
Yarn A: Vanille 03 x 1 ball
Yarn B: Tangerine 10 x 1 ball
Yarn C: Blanc 01 x 1 ball
Yarn D: Emeraude 138 x 1 ball
Yarn E: Bouton d’Or 99 x 1 ball
Yarn F: Ecarlate 05 x 1 ball
Yarn G: Blush 310 x 1 ball
Yarn H: Gauloise 77 x 1 ball
Yarn I: Aqua 137 x 1 ball
â— 3.5mm hook
â— Spray starch and blocking pins
YARN ALTERNATIVES
This yarn is a heavy DK/light aran yarn – any thick DK or light aran/ worsted weight cotton would be suitable for this design.
TENSION
Work 16dc and 16 rows to measure 10 x 10cm/4 x 4in using 3.5mm hook, or size required to obtain tension.
MEASUREMENTS
Finished motifs are up to 18cm/7in high. Sample bunting shown is 201cm/79in long.
DESIGNER BIOGRAPHY
Kath Webber has spent much of her life dreaming of living on the Suffolk coast. An obsession with Wes Anderson films, stripes, mustard yarn and popcorn stitch are her main occupation however, all accompanied by a soundtrack of knitting podcasts and 1960s music.
