Our latest issue is now available
Here at Inside Crochet we're all starting to get excited about going on our summer holidays, so this month we have put together a collection of projects inspired by the seaside.
From a very chic sunhat to ocean-inspired toys and interiors - and even a cute pair of shorts - hopefully our seaside shoot will remind you of windswept days battling deckchairs, eating sand-studded ice creams and bright, stripey rock with the name of the town etched through it.
The school holidays also start at the end of this month, so ever mindful of how hard it can be to keep children occupied, we thought this might be a good time to teach them how to crochet. With essential tips and gorgeously simple projects to get them started, Tracey Todhunter shares some of her valuable teaching knowledge gained from tutoring a wide range of age groups. From my own experience teaching many people to crochet, I have been able to see how small but important finishing techniques can make all the difference to a novice crocheters confidence. On page 84 I share some of these tricks and tips of the trade, which will help you give a professional finish to your crochet projects.
Finally, I am so excited about our interviews with two very different and interesting crocheters this month. Deputy Editor Lindsey Harrad peeks into the workspace of Cécile Balladino, who writes the stunning Eclectic Gipsyland blog, on page 26. And on page 98 she learns about life in the Faroes with Elly Doyle from beautiful online yarn store Magpielly.
