Based on a traditional sun hat, this design can be worked in a huge range of colours and is easily matched to your favourite beach outfit. 

Materials

* Scheepjes Cotton 8, 100% cotton, 50g/170m/218yds
Yarn A: White 502 x 1 ball
Yarn B: Light Pastel Green 663 x 1 ball
Yarn C: Pastel Green 664 x 1 ball
Yarn D: Blue 506 x 1 ball
Yarn E: Seagreen 723 x 1 ball
Yarn F: Soft Pink 654 x 1 ball
Yarn G: Orange/Pink 650 x 1 ball
Yarn H: Fuchsia 720 x 1 ball

* 4mm hook 

* Millinery wire, 150cm/60in

Yarn Alternatives

Any 4ply-weight cotton with the same tension should work well for this design.

Errata

Rnd 5: Change to yarns EF, 3ch (counts as first tr), 1tr in same sp, *[1tr in next sp], four (two) times, 2tr in next sp; rep from * to last 2 sps, [1tr in next sp] twice – 44 (48)tr.

Part of rnd in italics only applies to the larger size; for the smaller size simply repeat from * to end.

Rnds 35 & 36 are both worked with yarns HH.
