Tunisian Cable & Rib Sweater

By Lindy Zubairy

Find the complete pattern in Inside Crochet Issue #51

This cosy pullover is a fun first foray into cabled Tunisian crochet, and it works up quickly into a warm woolly that’s right on trend.

Materials

* Sirdar Click Chunky with Wool, 70% acrylic/30% wool, 50g/75m/82yds
Yarn A: Sunshine 0186 x 5 (5, 6, 6) balls

* Debbie Bliss Glen, 30% alpaca/30% Merino wool/40% acrylic, 50g/90m/98yds
Yarn B: Grey Black 02 x 7 (7, 8, 8) balls

* 9mm Tunisian hook

* 6mm standard hook

Yarn Alternatives

You can use any chunky weight yarns in place of those used here. To retain the visual effect, look for a tweedy, neutral shade for the lower section and a bright solid colour for the upper section. The jumper’s character lies in the colour and stitch texture contrast.
