The Retro Flowers Issue

Hurrah! A new season is on its way. Leaf kicking, blackberry picking, windy walks, and ALL the wool!

Inside this issue

Planning the autumn issues is always a joy as we’re lucky enough to sample the new season yarns and also get to reimagine this year’s new trends in clever crochet designs. Plus our team heads up to Yorkshire to be with the wonderful Yarndale family and lots of other fabulous makers and designers for a woolly weekend like no other.

This issue has a slight retro feel with a nod to ’70s florals and gorgeous autumnal shades. Yessabett Bueno’s stunning jumper with its statement daisy motif sets the tone for a really joyful collection of garments, from the beautiful waistcoat by Lucy George through to the fabulously cosy hoody by Cassie Ward and Atty van Norel.

With an eye on affordability and, as always, a preference for a handmade wardrobe, many of our designs this month can be made using up your stash pile. Helda Panagary’s stashbusting Granny Pops jumper is the perfect place to start.

And for smaller, quicker makes that would be perfect for gifting (yes, we’re thinking of Christmas!), the beautiful Retro Floral Scarf by Claire Montgomerie, the gorgeous wristwarmers by Millie Masterton and Victoria Kairis’ sweet Caravan Cushion are all things we would be delighted to find in our stockings.

Happy making!
