Whether it’s an opportunity to view the constellations that inspired the zodiac or to charge a crystal under a full moon, the night sky holds a certain kind of magic, and this issue is chock-full of beautiful projects inspired by this season’s Hunter’s Moon.
It’s hard to choose what to make first, but the season calls for cosiness, so we’ll be hooking up some of Anna Nikipirowicz’s Over the Moon Socks. We just love the shades and simple colourwork depicting the moon’s phases. Helen Anderson’s graphic Lunar Blanket uses the motif in a completely different way, adding metallic embroidery for a sparkling effect.
The use of metallic yarns and pretty paillettes make the garments in this issue particularly striking, and we love how the silk-blend yarn in Jess Bennett’s Endless Galaxies Top elevates it into something perfect for the party season ahead.
As well as shimmering styles, there are some fabulous motifs, including Cassie Ward’s Cosmic Cardigan with its sun and moon designs, and Katherine Laight’s beautiful Lyra Shawl inspired by the heroine in Philip Pullman’s Northern Lights trilogy of books.
